 Attention NORTH SMITHFIELD residents with BLACKSTONE MILLVILLE WATER service

On Tuesday, July 25, 2017, there will be NO WATER SERVICE from 8:00 am until approximately 4:00 pm for the following areas due to valves being changed -- 

St. Paul Street up to Mendon Road, Elizabeth Avenue, Middle Street, West Street, Colerick Street, and Fountain Street.

Due to the state's failure to adopt a budget, our billing process has been delayed.  Motor Vehicle, Real Estate, and Tangible tax bills will be going out on or about July 24th.  

 

The due date will be Tuesday, August 15, 2017

Senior Services of RI


 

Senior Services, Inc. has provided services to seniors and adults with disabilities residing in Northern Rhode Island since 1975, in accordance with the Congregate Meal Program financed through a grant with R.I. Department of Elderly Affairs. Senior Services, Inc. provides nutritionally balanced lunches five days a week at our meal sites throughout Northern R.I.

Senior Services, Inc. offer activities, entertainment, computer classes, and Wellness programs, which include a weekly blood pressure clinic and exercise classes.

Senior Services, Inc. also offers an Adult Day Care Program ("A Home for the Day"), and a Community Information Specialist who can provide information on eligibility for all state and local programs, including RIPAE.

We offer activities, entertainment, computer classes, and Alzheimer's Disease Support Groups.

The first of two House immigration reform bills is going down in flames. A vote on a more moderate bill was originally scheduled, today but is being postponed until tomorrow. Republican leaders say they want to give members a little more time to read the second bill       President Trump says he is ordering federal agencies and departments to expedite efforts to reunite migrant children and their families. Talking at the White House today, Trump said everyone was bothered by pictures of children who've been separated from their parents. After a huge public outcry, President Trump reversed the separation policy in an executive order yesterday. Meanwhile, First Lady Melania Trump is visiting a border facility where migrant children are being held in Texas.       San Francisco Police might be getting close to cracking a 1970s serial killer case. Investigators tell "CNN" they are about to release an updated sketch of the suspect in at least five and possibly as many as 14 murders that terrorized the gay community. The killer was nicknamed "The Doodler" because he would charm gay men by drawing sketches of them on bar napkins before he murdered them.        A new study from the Center for Disease Control says tobacco-free policies are on the rise at U.S. colleges and universities. The study, which was done in partnership with the American Nonsmokers' Rights Foundation, found that the number of campuses who are smoke or tobacco free has more than doubled between 2012 and 2017. Researchers say the policies help prevent deaths from smoking and secondhand exposure.       The Minnesota Vikings are hosting a summit to highlight the inclusion of LGBTQ athletes. Today's event will take place at the team's practice facility. LGBTQ athletes will take part in discussion panels. Among the names in attendance will be Olympic diver Greg Louganis, triathlete Chris Mosier and former NFL defensive tackle Esera Tuaolo.        Disney is testing a concept that would charge visitors by the hour to enjoy the park. California Adventure's highly-anticipated Pixar Pier is opening a day early on Friday for dedicated fans who pay 299-dollars, or 50-bucks an hour, to get in. The "Wall Street Journal" reports that the sneak peek party is to see if people would pay a premium to avoid crowds.
