Rose Ferron Foundation of Rhode Island Presents

You are cordially invited to the first “Little Rose Fundraiser,” at Savini’s Pomodoro
Italian Kitchen & Bar with Hosts Mitch & Roger Savini, 476 Rathbun St., Woonsocket,
RI  02895, on
Saturday, October 28, 2017, 11am – 4pm.

The Rose Ferron Foundation of Rhode Island continues to honor Marie-Rose Ferron
during this year of the 81st Anniversary of her death, a well-known, documented,
bedridden Mystic, Stigmatist and Ecstatic of Woonsocket with a large U.S., Canada
and International following.  Many found consolation and healing through her prayers
and sacrifices during her lifetime (1902-1936) and still find great comfort today by
praying her Novena, being inspired by her piety and virtues, and visiting her
Precious Blood Cemetery gravesite.

The event includes:  A family style chicken dinner, viewing of the 1989 EWTN
interview by Mother Angelica with Jeanne Savard Bonin, Canadian nurse, teacher
and author of “A Stigmatist – Marie-Rose Ferron”; an informal talk on Little Rose
by David P. Ethier, President, Rose Ferron Foundation of Rhode Island; testimonies
by devotées of healings attributed to Little Rose; displays of her habit, clothing,
’mementos’ and personal belongings; and, a visit to Precious Blood Cemetery
gravesite.  We will be doing the same as at least 1,000 people who visit her grave
every year – experiencing tremendous solace and healings in their needs.

The proceeds are going towards a permanent home in Woonsocket for:
‘The Chapel of Thorns,’ (designed and built by her cousin, Rose Myette, under the
direction of Little Rose); an extensive collection of Little Rose’s ‘mementos’;
an office to greet visitors who stopover to the center; a book nook; a place for
quiet reflection; to help Little Rose be better known and loved in Woonsocket,
Rhode Island and in the world!

Tickets are $25.00/per person and available the first week of September at:
Savini’s Pomodoro Italian Kitchen & Bar, 476 Rathbun St., Woonsocket

The House is rejecting the first of two House Republican immigration bills. The hardline measure failed on a vote of 193-231. Meanwhile, GOP leaders delayed a vote on a second more moderate plan until tomorrow to give members more time to consider the bill.       President Trump blames Democrats for blocking efforts to reform the nation's immigration system. Speaking at the White House today, Trump said "extremist, open-border Democrats" are slowing down the process of fixing federal immigration laws. His comments come as First Lady Melania Trump makes a surprise visit to a holding center for immigrant children in McAllen, Texas.       Online shopping is about to get more expensive. The U.S. Supreme Court is clearing the way to allow sales taxes when you buy something on the Internet. The court ruled states can start collecting sales tax even if the retailers don't have a store or warehouse in the state.        FBI officials are warning travelers about a surge in sexual assaults on commercial airline flights. According to reports, there has been a 66-percent spike in cases opened from 2014 to 2017. Officials say passengers need to stay alert since the assaults are most likely to happen when the cabin is dark and the victim is asleep, such as red eye flights.        Transgender people are no longer considered as mentally ill. The World Health Organization now classifies it as a sexual health condition. WHO says it stopped classifying transgenderism as a mental illness after understanding it is not an actual mental health condition.        The 2018 NBA Draft tips off tonight in Brooklyn, New York. The Phoenix Suns are expected to use their first-overall pick to tap Deandre Ayton from the University of Arizona. The Sacramento Kings are reportedly deciding between Duke's Marvin Bagley the Third, Missouri's Michael Porter Jr. and Slovenian star Luka Doncic [[ DON-chitch ]] or possibly even trading the number-two pick.
